ABOUT TOBAGO
General
With a climate that rarely falls below 30ºC,
and a population of under 50,000, Tobago is one of the Caribbean's best kept
secrets. Tiny (26 miles long, 9 miles wide) and unspoilt, the island hosts two
championship golf courses, and has superb scuba diving, fishing and bird
watching.
With such stunning beaches and coral reefs, the island has eagerly embraced
eco-tourism which can be enjoyed at one of the world's oldest nature reserves in
the centre of the Island. South of Barbados and north east of Trinidad (with
whom it is politically connected), the island is shaped as an elongated oval
with the flat plateau of the south west (Lowlands) being the most developed.
Although unspoilt, the island has a wealth of bars and restaurants. There is
somewhere to suit all ages and pockets! Entertaining is low-key.
NOTE:
The dry season (High Season) runs from mid-December to mid-April with the wet
season (Low Season) running between mid-April to mid-December. The island
currency is the TT (Trinidad and Tobago) dollar – but US dollars are freely
used.

HOW TO GET TO THE VILLA
You will be met by a representative of Island Investments, our agent
(Patricia Phillips) on 1-868-639-0929 or Steve Patience 1-868-755-9351. The villa is only a short drive from
Crown Point International Airport. The Tobago Plantation Development is directly
off the road to Scarborough.
Take the Milford Road to Scarborough and go along the straight road through
the village of Canaan. This road becomes the Claude Noel highway and shortly
after the Shirvan Road on the left the Tobago Plantation Development is on the
right. The Development is marked with a walled entrance and there is a manned
gatehouse just off the main road.
Once past the gatehouse, follow the road through the Golf Course; turn left
at the first small roundabout and right at the next; go on towards the Hilton
Hotel and before the barrier for the Hotel turn right and continue down the road
(not taking the left turn to one side of the peninsular just after the security
box) until you reach number 134 which is the white/orange home on the right.
