Green Hill Farm
The property is located in the outskirts of Mount St.
George in an area which was previously totally used for agricultural
purposes but which is now moving towards residential and eco-tourism usage.
The nearest beach is 10 minutes drive away, with safe bathing in a secluded
sandy cove. Fresh fish is brought into this bay on an almost daily basis.
The House
The house is built in an open style to maximize the
breezes from the Atlantic Sea and take advantage of the stunning and
panoramic 360 degree views around the house. The living accommodation is
approximately 3.500 sq ft. As there are many French doors which can be
opened on either side of the house.
The upper part of the house comprises 4 large bedrooms
with two bathrooms. The living areas is open plan to the kitchen and there
are two rooms adjoining the kitchen currently used as a storage room and
pantry. The master bedroom has a walk-in room as a closet and en suite
bathroom. The guest bedrooms share a bathroom on this floor. There is a one
bedroom apartment, with bathroom and sitting room with separate access
downstairs with shared laundry facilities.
All doors windows, cupboards and wardrobes are made of
natural varnished cedar and the vaulted ceilings are stained wood with
external asphalt shingles.
The pool was built at the same time as the house with an
extensive retaining wall to give the space for the pool decking on the same
level as the main house. The decking is Trinidad river slate which is non
slip and does not hold the heat as much as concrete. The rocks and stone
used for waterfalls and rock walls and the Jacuzzi pool are also river stone
and are easy to clean and do not attract algae. All valves for waterfalls
and the Jacuzzi pool are separate and can be turned on or off independently.
The pool is 3'6" deep at the shallow end with steps providing safe and easy
access, sloping slowly to 7' in the centre of the deep end.
The Land
The land has some flat areas which are being used for
animal pens and some inclines which were used to provide well drained beds
for vegetables. The property was used to produce short term crops
approximately 2 acres laid to beds. There are four pens made of wood and
wire and galvanized roofing for layers, white fowls and ducks. There is a
substantial sheep/goat pen which comfortably houses over 50 animals in
separate pens with water supply at pen. There is excellent shade and shelter
for the animals provided by mango, orange, grapefruit, lime, mandarin,
coconut, papaya etc....There are about 30 trees in total. .There are
numerous water points throughout the land and most of the cultivated beds
are watered by sprinkler systems.
The access road to the house is concrete and provides good
access in the rainy season.
Superb sea view from Studley Park to Signal Hill and
inland to Top Peak.
